Writers Who Forget What They Wrote

If you’ve ever sat down to write and suddenly realised, you can’t remember half of what you’ve already put on the pages, you’re not alone. It’s fine. It’s normal. It’s practically a rite of passage.
Writing a story, especially one with emotional depth, layered characters, and a world that grows with every chapter, is a bit like living two lives at once. You’re holding the scene you’re writing right now in your hands, while the rest of the story sits somewhere in the background, quietly humming. Your brain priorities the moment you’re in, not the moments you’ve already passed.
I find myself forgetting eye and hair colours! I’m always needing to look back over my notes.
Forgetting isn’t a flaw. It’s a sign that you’re creating something bigger than what one moment of memory can hold.
At least this is what I tell myself as I go back over my story to make sure I am covering all the details correctly and telling the story as planned.

How about you? Do you find yourself doing the same?
